Polygon is a protocol and a framework for building and connecting Ethereum-compatible blockchain networks. Aggregating scalable solutions on Ethereum supporting a multi-chain Ethereum ecosystem.
How to Add Polygon Network to Metamask
Through a simple process, you can add as many bridges and networks into Metamask, to do so, click on the right circle on Metamask, and click on Settings.
As a second step on Settings, go to Networks, New Network and write the information for Polygon Network such as the one described below:
Network Name: Polygon
New RPC URL: https://rpc-mainnet.matic.network/
Chain ID: 137
Currency Symbol: MATIC
Block Explorer URL: https://explorer.matic.network/
On the main page, you will see that you’re connected to Polygon Network already, now you can connect your wallet to any service that requires Polygon.
How to Bridge Ethereum to Polygon
Making a bridge through Ethereum Network and Matic is a simple process as well, however, to make transactions on Polygon Network it’s required that you have Matic Tokens in your wallet, just like the BSC network requires BNB tokens.
To buy Matic tokens you can search for any suitable exchange on Coingecko that offers Matic tokens, then you need to withdraw those tokens to your Metamask Wallet Address.
Now you’ve got Matic tokens in your wallet to make transactions on Polygon network, and you should have Ethereum tokens to Bridge them to Matic Network through the steps below.
Join Polygon Network Website through this Link, you will be redirected directly to Polygon Bridge Website.
Connect your Metamask Wallet to Polygon Network Interface.
You can now select the Token that you want to bridge to Matic Network, in our case, it’s Ethereum, so you select the amount of Ethereum that you want to Bridge and Transfer.
You will need to Approve the Transaction and Completing it by paying Ethereum Fees at first
That’s it!, now you’ve got tokens on Matic Network!
